Festival Place is fully committed to protecting the environment and, since 2007, we have been awarded three Green Hero and 10 Green Apple awards for our recycling efforts.
With Global Recycling Day just around the corner on March 18, we thought we would let you know some of the amazing green initiatives our retailers have also adopted.
Everything from recycled packaging to refill stations everyone is doing their bit to show their commitment to sustainability and our environment.
Many of our fashion stores have recycling old clothes initiative – rewear, reuse and recycle. This allows people to take back pre-loved and pre-worn items to stores such as H&M, River Island, Monsoon and Schuh.
Cosmetics store Lush has its Bring It Back recycling scheme where customers get rewards for returning any of their Lush plastic packaging for recycling. Similarly M&S also has a recycling scheme for customers to recycle any form of plastic or aluminium beauty packaging - from bottles and tubes to caps, pumps, and tubs.
And at The Body Shop there are refill stations encouraging customers to opt into a refill bottle with a £1 off every time they come back and refill it.
Ever wondered what you can do with your plastic medicine blister packs? Well Superdrug has teamed up with brands Benadryl, Buscopan, Calpol, Nurofen, Imodium, Nicorette, Optrex, BuscoMint, Dulcolax, Sudafed and Allevia to include collection boxes in every Superdrug Pharmacy, so you can recycle them.
Phone shops EE, O2 and Three have schemes where old handsets can be recycled instead of being thrown away. And at The Perfume Shop you can take in empty perfume bottles to be recycled and get a 15% off your purchase in store the same day.
Last, but by no means least, many of our F&B retailers are listed on the Too Good To Go app where that day’s unsold food can be bought at a discounted rate. These include Greggs, Pret, Chopstix, Costa, Starbucks, Wenzels and Pizza Express.
