We love our food here at Festival Place, and our fantastic restaurants and bars are offering summer on a plate with their marvellous, moreish menus from around the world.
Whether you prefer the cooler indoors or dining outside in the sun in our buzzing Festival Square, you can work your way through some great summer menus.
You’ll find seasonal specials at lots of our restaurants and cafes – here are some of our favourites! We love them and hope you will, too...
First stop has to be our wonderful, award-winning, local Nigerian restaurant which serves an array of African delights. New for summer is a perfect light dish for those sunny days – grilled fish, salad and fried plantain all topped with Afrizi’s very own sauce.
If noodling is more your thing, then head to Wagamama where there are new mouth-watering flavours from Thailand, especially for summer. Try the pulled shiitake donburi in a sweet and spicy teriyaki sauce on a bed of sticky white rice, shredded carrots, mangetout, sweet potato, cucumber, edamame beans and Kimchee.
From Thailand to South America, enjoy a summer fiesta at Las Iguanas where you can enjoy nachos, fajitas, enchiladas and quesadillas to your heart’s content. You can also have two tapas dishes and two cocktails for £20 which are served all day every day including weekends. And if you have little ones in tow, then kids can eat free when you download the app and buy an adult main meal.
Next stop is France, where this summer Cote has some new dishes for you to savour. Try the confit of duck served with Comte cheese, confit duck and bechamel all on a toasted brioche – not forgetting the poached egg on top. Or why not opt for poulet au bacon – marinated chicken breast in garlic, thyme & smoked paprika, with a smoked bacon velouté and salad vierge served with frites – talk about France on a plate!
Now we’re heading next door to Italy. At Ask there are a number of new dishes on the menu especially for summer, including to start with a trio of crispy arancini filled with pumpkin & sage, beetroot & goat's cheese and pea & basil. For main try the frilly tagliatelle with garlic-marinated king prawns, courgettes, baby plum tomatoes & a creamy seafood sauce. Garnished with parsley, chilli & lemon. And for pudding it’s a chocolate lover's dream. Hot toffee sauce poured into a chocolate dome, which melts onto gooey chocolate brownie pieces, vanilla gelato & toffee popcorn – what’s not to love!
If pizza is more your thing, then Pizza Express has two new flavours. A Four Seasons Speciale with baby plum tomatoes, basil & pine kernel pesto & mozzarella; pepperoni & Calabrese sausage; mushroom, truffle and Gran Milano cheese and the final quarter anchovy, capers & olives. Or if you like things a bit spicier and meatier try the Calabrian Feast - ’Nduja and Calabrese sausage, plus pepperoni and crispy pancetta. With two types of mozzarella, Gran Milano cheese, chilli, parsley and hot honey – fiery!
We’re swinging Stateside now where BrewDog, Slim Chickens and Nandos have some newness to sample. At BrewDog they have created The Pit – hand smashed beef patty, crispy slow braised pork, bacon jam, jammy onions, pickles and chopped slaw!
At Nandos try the Big Cheese – big by name and nature with a thick slice of grilled halloumi, red pepper and pineapple salsa, sliced avocado and Churrasco PERinaise in a new rustic Portuguese burger roll.
And last, but by no means least, Slim Chickens has, for a limited time only and in collaboration with Universal Pictures to celebrate the film Jurassic Coast Rebirth, launched the new Jurassic Crunch Sandwich. A spicy, buttermilk chicken breast, lettuce, pickles and mayo, drizzled with Hot Honey Ranch!
So, whatever your tastebuds are telling you, we look forward to sharing our summer with you at Festival Place. Bon Appetit!
