What has two big ears, one wet nose and two big goggly eyes?
Visitors will be hoping they don’t come face to face with the answer when they go ‘hunting’ around the centre this March and April.
For more than 30 years, children have recited and sung along to We’re Going On A Bear Hunt, the story of a family who can’t go over or under the obstacles – but through them.
The beloved children’s story by Michael Rosen, is being brought to life during March and April through a series of 3D trails where youngsters follow the hunt for themselves, through ‘long wavy’ grass, a ‘deep cold’ river, ‘thick oozy’ mud, a ‘big dark’ forest, a ‘swirling whirling’ snowstorm, before ending up in a ‘narrow gloomy’ cave!
To celebrate World Book Day, the trail will run from March 8 to April 21 with special, free storytelling sessions in Porchester Square on March 8th and 9th and April 12th and 13th every 20 minutes from 11am – 4pm.
Pick up your trail guide from the Customer Lounge (on the Upper Level) and don’t forget the crayons – each stop on the trail features a fun activity that will spark your little explorer’s imagination.
Once you’ve finished the trail, get creative and complete one of the colouring pages provided and enter our competition for a chance to win a fantastic bundle of books and We’re Going on a Bear Hunt prizes!
It’s free, it’s fun, and it’s perfect for families. So grab your map and prepare to step into the beloved story for an unforgettable day at Festival Place.
